The Display

The image on the left is a bank of six electronic components known as "Seven Segment Displays" Each display has seven individually controllable lighted segments (hence the name) that can be turned on or off in order to create representations of dozens of charachters. 

Using just the seven individual lights, you can indicate at least ten numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 0) and several letters. Just the creative layout of these "segments" allows you to communicate a significant amount of information. 

Nearly every digital clock you've ever seen had some form of this display. You've most likely set an important alarm on a clock with one of these. Maybe it was time to leave for or a first date, or wake up for an important exam. Despite the fact that you didn't know the name of the individual components, or how they worked, you knew you could rely on this simple piece of technology to do its important job. 

This is the spirit we bring to events every day. 

Technology isn't necessarily better or more functional just because it's new and complicated. Often, what is needed is a simple, universally recognized implementation that reliably delivers.

 We love new exciting technology as much as anyone, but the core of our identity is the humility of the simple display.
